Camera Lucida is an international project developed by Assamblage - National Association of Contemporary Jewelry Authors and Designers, showcased during 2017 - 2018 and dedicated to the 100 year commemoration since the end of World War I. The project unraveled in the form of a contest and a series of contemporary jewelry exhibits, which involved designers, institutions and specialists from all over the world. 20 designers from Romania, USA, Costa Rica, South Korea, France, Spain, Mexico, Finland and Italy have participated in teams of two in an experimental project, in which all the art pieces have been transformed and reinterpreted in order to deliver a speech of peace and cooperation at an international level. The pretense of World War I has become a factor of artistic creation and partnership beyond borders and cultural stereotypes.
The exhibit was launched in 2016 at the National History Museum of Romania and 7 other cultural locations in Bucharest, while also being showcased at Joya Barcelona and Designblok - Prague Design and Fashion Week. In 2017, the exhibit was presented during the Romanian Centenar festivities in two of the world's most important diplomatic centers - Brussels and UN Headquarters in New York City.
