The opening of the exhibition "You are Here" took place at the ICR Lisbon gallery in Rua do Barão no. 10 in Lisbon on Tuesday, September 14 at 19.00, , within the first International Biennial of Jewelry in Lisbon. The exhibition is organized by the Assamblage Association in collaboration with the Romanian Cultural Institute Lisbon and presents the works of 6 Romanian designers - Andreia Gabriela Popescu, Diana Toboșaru, Gena Tudor, Mădălina Spiridon, Magdalena Pelmuș and Ramona Popescu.

The theme of “Suor Frio” (s. Cold sweat) to which both the biennial and the Assamblage exhibition subscribe, is an invitation to reflect on the human body, on man's atavistic fear of the great phenomena of nature (one of which is pandemics) and of the means by which he tries or hopes to protect himself. The biennial thus addresses a significant aspect of the history of jewelry - the physical and spiritual protection it provides us. Responding to this challenge, "You are Here" is a project that explores jewelry as a means of communicating, in a particular and subjective way, the way we live a changed and different world. “In a constant attempt to understand, adapt, reprioritize and find new evaluation systems, we have come to realize that life can be a point between two rows of parallel mirrors, an infinite reflection of a self in which there is no difference between question and answer ”- David Sandu - Curator of the exhibition.

The Lisbon Jewelry Biennial is a project initiated by the PIN National Association and takes place between September 14 and November 20, 2021. Under the theme Suro Frio, invites us to reflect on the significance of the body, fear and protection through its program of exhibitions, discussions, meetings and workshops. In the official map, the main exhibition of the Biennale will take place at the Museu de São Roque in partnership with MUDE - Museu do Design e da Moda (MUDE) and PIN - and will be presented at the gallery of temporary exhibitions in Igreja and Museu de São Roque. In addition to the “You are Here” exhibition at the Romanian Cultural Institute, the biennial calendar also includes 12 other galleries, museums and cultural spaces in Lisbon that have organized contemporary jewelry exhibitions dedicated to this event.
